Cape Kiwanda

Home to some of the world's most breathtaking, dramatic sunsets, Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area in Tillamook County is a must-see sandstone headland that's constantly being re-sculpted by the churning Pacific Ocean below. You can play along the sprawling beaches, explore the tide pools, and climb the towering dune for a premier view of the Pacific. If you're lucky, you might see a dory boat or two land ashore. Tip: if the winds are from the northwest, you can often see paragliders launching on the north side of the Cape.
