Whether traveling by car, bicycle, or motorcycle, the beautiful Blue Mountain Scenic Byway in Morrow County will transport you through a slice of heaven in Eastern Oregon. This long, paved, two-lane stretch will take you through the historic communities of Ione, Lexington, and Heppner. Along the way, be sure to look for the Oregon Trail, stop to admire the trees in the Umatilla National Forest, or try to catch a glimpse of Rocky Mountain Elk. Tip: For a full adventure of the byway, start on the west side at Heppner Junction off of I-84 and continue east through Morrow County all the way to Baker City. These views of the Blues will fill you with joy.
